Is Loftia on Switch today?
No, Loftia is not available on Nintendo Switch at the moment. The game has not launched on any platform yet, apart from the free Steam demo. Its first release is Early Access on Windows and macOS through Steam. That begins on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST.
Searches for the Switch release date are common, especially from players who prefer console or handheld play. The honest answer is that Switch comes later. The official sources describe a plan rather than a product you can buy. Anything claiming a current Switch download is not official.
Loftia is developed by Qloud Games as a cozy online life simulation MMO set across floating islands. On PC and Mac you farm, craft, decorate a home and play with friends. The Switch version is expected to bring that experience to Nintendo’s console. Until it arrives, Steam is the only place to play.
The 2027 target
The current official FAQ schedules Nintendo Switch for 2027. The official demo and Early Access overview repeats the same 2027 platform plan. Qloud Games’ September 20 announcement also separated the PC and Mac launch from the later Switch plan. All three point to the same year.
A year is still a broad window. No month, day or price has been confirmed in the sources checked for this page. Treat 2027 as a target that could move rather than a fixed date. The official FAQ is where an exact date would appear first.
Plans for console versions can shift during development. Loftia itself has moved from broad release windows to a firm Early Access date on PC and Mac. A similar step would be needed before a Switch date is fixed. Watch the official channels rather than relying on rumors.
How Switch fits with the PC and Mac release
Loftia’s first platforms are Windows and macOS through Steam. The developer also confirms Steam Deck support and controller play for that version. Those are the ways to play from November 3, 2026. Switch follows as a separate release.
The game will be in Early Access when it first launches. The developer describes the length of Early Access only as an estimate, and no version 1.0 date has been announced. It is not stated whether the Switch version will arrive during Early Access or later. That detail remains open.
Every version shown so far needs an internet connection, because Loftia is an online shared world. The official demo page notes the online requirement in its platform section, including for the later Switch release. Players should expect the Switch version to be online as well. Solo play is supported, but it still happens online.
The developer has also not said whether Switch players will share servers with Steam players. Server choice matters because friends need to be on the same server to play together. Until that is confirmed, assume the Switch details are still being worked out. The FAQ will be updated when the team has more to share.
Switch 2, cross-play and physical copies
Several questions about the Switch version are still unanswered. The checked sources do not confirm Switch 2 support. They also do not confirm a cartridge or other physical edition. Frame rate and performance targets for Switch were not published either.
Cross-platform play is described in the official FAQ as an aim that the team is evaluating. That is not an unconditional promise that Switch players will be able to join PC players. Friends need to be on the same server to play together. We will only state cross-play as confirmed once the developer says so.
Price is another open question. The Steam version has an announced US price of US$29.99, but no Switch price was announced. Console pricing can differ from PC pricing, so do not assume they will match. Wait for an official Switch announcement for the real figure.
Older platform promises
Loftia was crowdfunded on Kickstarter in August 2023, and campaign material from that time included Switch. The historical BackerKit FAQ also mentions Switch in its broader platform language. Those pages describe the original promise. They are not the current timetable.
The current FAQ is more specific and gives 2027. When an old page and the current FAQ differ, prefer the current FAQ. Backers with questions about their rewards should use their official account and project updates. Our Kickstarter guide covers the campaign history.
Kickstarter and BackerKit are now closed, so new players cannot back the game for platform-specific rewards. Original backers should keep using the same email on their official account. A developer update notes that mismatched emails can cause reward problems. Contact the team if you need accounts merged.
Try the PC or Mac demo while you wait
If you have a Windows PC or an Apple Silicon Mac, you can try Loftia now. The free demo runs from October 19 to October 26, 2026 on Steam. It covers the opening Loftia City quests, gathering, farming and home decoration. It ends before the Hanging Gardens quest segment.
Link your Loftia website account in-game with your email to keep your progress. Linked progress, items and quests carry into Early Access. It is not stated whether progress will carry over to the Switch version. For now, demo progress is linked to Early Access on Steam.
The demo week ends on October 26, 2026, and Early Access opens on November 3. If you only own a Switch, you can still follow the game’s development in the meantime. The official YouTube channel posts trailers, and the Discord hosts community news. Both are good ways to stay up to date.
Steam Deck as a handheld alternative
Players who want handheld play at launch can look at the Steam Deck. The official FAQ confirms Steam Deck support and controller play. That is a developer commitment rather than a Valve Verified badge. An internet connection is still required.
The Steam version costs US$29.99 in the United States, with a limited-time launch price of US$24.89. Other regions use regional pricing. There is no required game subscription. If you would rather wait for Switch, follow the official FAQ and Steam announcements for news in 2027.
Wishlisting the game on Steam or following the official Steam announcements keeps you informed about platform news. The official FAQ is the document most likely to change when a Switch date is set. Pre-registration on the official website is free and works across platforms as an account. Keep your account email current so news reaches you.
